About Picodreams

The company Pico Dreams was founded in March 2015 as a result of the activity carried out by the partners since 2010 in the field of local vacation accommodation in the town of São Roque do Pico, Pico Island, Azores. Pico Dreams is a vacation resort, currently made up of three separate buildings on a property of around 5,000m2.
We offer you a unique experience of tranquillity and beauty, different from the usual tourist routes, secret refuges for those looking for neutral ground to recover from the battles of everyday life.Our aim is to provide you with an unforgettable vacation, in a landscape where you can enjoy the surrounding nature and where your emotions are enveloped by the magic of birdsong.

Useful information for your trip

Opening Hours

Most traditional stores are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., closing during lunchtime (12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.). On Saturdays they are open until 1 p.m. Hypermarkets are open from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., except on Sundays and public holidays, when they are closed between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m.

Typical Regional Products

Typical fish dishes: fresh fish or shellfish, fish broth, stewed octopus.Typical meat dishes: Espírito Santo soups, pork crackling, meat sauce, yams with sausage.Sweets: massa sovada, arroz doce, rosquilhas, bolo de milho, bolo de véspera, bolo levedo.Wines: angelica, verdelho, brandies, liqueurs

Rent-a-car

We recommend renting a car, at least for a few days of your vacation, as the island is large, there are places inaccessible by public transport and public transport has few daily trips. Reservations should be made in advance as it is difficult to find available vehicles in the summer.

Weather

Maritime temperate, it's mild due to the influence of sea currents. Somewhat unstable, but without major temperature variations. Average air temperature: 23oC (73oF) in summer and 13oC (55oF) in winter. Average sea water temperature: 24oC (75oF) in summer and 17oC (24oF) in winter.

What to bring with you

Although the temperatures near the coast are mild all year round, if you venture up to Pico, you should bring a sweater and waterproofs to keep warm and comfortable.
